What is Taught at the Hakudakan?

Ju Jitsu:
Practical and street effective combat system that teaches you how to defend yourself at all ranges from grabs , holds, punches kicks and strangles.

Filipino Martial Arts-Kali:
Kali is a comprehensive weapons and empty-hand based system.Kali weaponry is a superb way of developing your co-ordination, timing, reflexes, footwork, speed and movement.

Jeet Kune Do:
literally “Way of the Intercepting Fist” a martial art combat system developed by Bruce Lee. Jeet Kune Do is Bruce Lee’s combat philosophy.

Full Contact Stick Fighting:
An exciting and rapid sport, allowing you to test yourself physically and mentally against the best fighters in the UK and Europe. Through training in Kali (Filipino Martial Arts) you will gain technical skills and attributes that can be applied and tested in the ring.

A word from Sensei Barry Harte (5th Dan, chief instructor)

Its not a style, its just the name I have chosen to use for the clubs. The style of Ju Jitsu is based on Goshin Ryu Ju Jitsu, but because of my training, there are many other influences within the system I teach. I teach Kali (Filipino Martial Arts) & JKD (Jeet Kune Do) separately to preserve the arts and in respect for my teachers but these arts have heavily influenced my approach to training and teaching and therefore there is a blend of systems in all classes. I try to make it clear to students which arts the techniques that I teach have come from.
