General information

TKC, under director Robert King, performs both a chamber ensemble, and as an orchestra, working with its highly acclaimed Choir of The King's Consort who have also appeared on sound tracks of major Hollywood films.
Its 100 CD recordings have won many prestigious international awards and sold more than 1,500,000 discs.
TKC has toured to almost every European country, to Japan, Hong Kong, the Far East, and North and South America.
TKC's vast repertoire ranges from the sixteenth to the twenty-first centuries. Most famed for performances of baroque repertoire by Bach, Handel, Purcell and Vivaldi, and classical works by Haydn and Mozart, TKC also performs nineteenth and twentieth century music, including Brahms, Britten, Gershwin, Mendelssohn, Rossini and more.
Forthcoming highlights include Purcell Dido and Aeneas with Carolyn Sampson on a European tour including Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Theater an der Wien, The Coronation of King George in Germany and the UK, Bach St Matthew Passion in Spain, tours to France, Malta, Portugal and Spain and, celebrating TKC’s 100th CD, a huge world-premiere recording of the sacred music of Stanford and Parry for TKC’s own new recording label, VIVAT.
