General information
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is a unique EU initiative that boosts innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe with one simple idea: through diversity there is strength.
The EIT brings together leading companies, higher education institutions and research labs to form pan-European partnerships called Innovation Communities (KICs). These Innovation Communities develop innovative products and services, start new companies, and train a new generation of entrepreneurs.
There are currently six Innovation Communities:
EIT Climate-KIC (bit.ly/EIT_Climate-KIC): addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation
EIT Digital (bit.ly/EIT_Digital): addressing Information and Communication Technologies
EIT InnoEnergy (bit.ly/EIT_InnoEnergy): addressing sustainable energy
EIT Health (bit.ly/EIT_Health): addressing healthy living and active ageing
EIT Raw Materials (bit.ly/EIT_RawMaterials): addressing sustainable exploration, extraction, processing, recycling and substitution
EIT Food (bit.ly/EIT_Food): addressing sustainable supply chains from resources to consumers
Two more Innovation Communities will be joining the EIT Community in 2018: EIT Manufacturing and EIT Urban mobility!
